An emergency meeting of the Toronto Transit Commission was held in the Executive Boardroom, TTC Head Office, 1900 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 commencing at 8:40 a.m.

A. Giambrone (Chair), J. Mihevc (Vice-Chair), B. Saundercook, P. Milczyn, S. Bussin and A. Perruzza (Commissioners), G. Webster (Interim Chief General Manager), V. Rodo (General Manager – Executive & General Secretary), R. Cornacchia (Acting General Manager – Operations), J. Sepulis (General Manager – Engineering & Construction), B. Leck (General Counsel), S. Blakey (Executive Director - Human Resources), C. Jeffries (Director – Employment Services) and W. Buffett (Assistant General Secretary) were present.

A. Giambrone was in the Chair.

B. Agnew-Iler, Mayor’s Office and K. Beaulieu, Executive Assistant, Chair Giambrone’s Office were also present.

1. CGM Recruitment

Vice-Chair Mihevc moved that the Commission meet as the Committee of the Whole with the absence of staff, except for the clerk and Human Resources staff, to deal with a confidential memorandum dated June 27, 2007 from S. Blakey, Executive Director, Human Resources entitled, “CGM recruitment”, which is a matter relating to labour relations or employee negotiations.

The motion by Vice-Chair Mihevc carried.

The Commission then recessed its public session at 8:45 a.m. to meet in closed session as the Committee of the Whole.

The Commission reconvened its public session at 9:05 a.m.

Chair Giambrone moved that the Commission confirm the proceedings of the closed session to appoint Gary Webster as Chief General Manager of the Toronto Transit Commission.

The motion by Chair Giambrone carried on a unanimous vote.

The meeting adjourned at 9:10 a.m.
