TTC Wheel-Trans eligibility expands in 2017

Starting January 1, the TTC’s eligibility criteria for new Wheel-Trans customers are expanding and a new conditional category is being introduced.

December 29, 2016 - For the fourth consecutive New Year's Eve, the TTC is providing Torontonians with free, safe rides to and from their festivities, thanks to the generosity of Corby Spirit and Wine, who have also committed to sponsoring free New Year's Eve service for the next two years.

December 28, 2016 - The TTC is reminding customers the cost of most fares and passes will increase on Jan. 1, 2017.

December 19, 2016 - Throughout the holidays, the TTC will run on a modified schedule, and will provide free, extended New Year's Eve service, courtesy of Corby Spirit and Wine.
- TTC 501 Queen route converts to buses west of Roncesvalles for 2017
December 16, 2016 - Starting Jan. 8, and throughout 2017, buses will replace streetcars on the portion of the 501 Queen route west of Roncesvalles Ave. to accommodate City of Toronto work on the Queensway Bridge, TTC streetcar track and overhead work, and the renewal of the Humber Loop.

December 13, 2016 - Yesterday, TTC CEO Andy Byford and Chief People Officer Gemma Piemontese proudly accepted an award recognizing the TTC as one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers.
- TTC bus stops at Yonge-Eglinton relocated during LRT construction
December 13, 2016 - Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 9 a.m., several TTC bus stops around the intersection of Yonge St. and Eglinton Ave. are being moved to accommodate Metrolinx construction on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.

December 9, 2016 - The TTC is increasing service for Toronto FC fans heading to Saturday night's MLS Cup final game at BMO Field.
- Random drug and alcohol testing for TTC workers begins March 1
December 8, 2016 - The TTC today gave formal notice to its four unions that it will implement random drug and alcohol testing starting March 1, 2017. At its November 30 board meeting, TTC commissioners approved a staff implementation plan that will see 20% of all employees in safety sensitive positions, including designated management and executives, subject to random testing for drugs and alcohol.
- TTC welcomes Santa and Mrs. Claus to the subway
December 6, 2016 - The holiday season season officially gets underway on the TTC this week as Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and TTC Chair Josh Colle visit various subway stations this Thursday.
