What we are doing and why?

On Wednesday, May 29, TTC will commence bus roadway rehabilitation at Davisville Station requiring temporary changes to bus boarding locations. Additionally, concrete rehabilitation will be conducted to the south pedestrian bridge/walkway that provides a connection between subway platforms, and is an alternate access to the bus waiting areas and bus bay. This work will return the infrastructure to a state of good repair.

Work will be conducted in phases to maintain the best possible access for customers and bus operations.

Bus roadways

  • From May 29 to October 2019, the west bus roadway will be closed for work.
  • Shortly after the west bus roadway is completed, the east bus roadway will be closed for work.
  • During each bus roadway phase, the concrete bus driveway on Chaplin Crescent will also be reconstructed. Sidewalk access will be maintained.

South pedestrian bridge/walkway

  • From May 29 to February 2020, the pedestrian bridge/walkway will be closed for rehabilitation.

Other work

  • Concrete repairs to the staircase area at the south end of the station that leads from the pedestrian/walkway bridge to the bus bay, restricting staircase access.
  • Structural concrete replacement work outside the station’s Chaplin Crescent entrance, as well as re-tiling the floor inside the lobby.
  • Localized concrete repairs throughout the mezzanine area (collector booth level).

Work hours

  • The majority of the work will be completed during the day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with some exceptions for safety. On Wednesday, May 29, crews will begin at 5 a.m. to install barriers and hoarding.
  • Some work inside of the station (i.e. floor and tile repairs) can only be completed overnight when the station is closed or when there is less customer traffic.
  • The initial phases of pedestrian bridge work may require overnight shifts when subways are not operating, as the bridge is directly above the subway track.

Accessibility

Davisville is an accessible station; accessibility will be maintained for the duration of the project.

TTC service

  • Subway service will be maintained during the project.
  • Some buses will not enter the station - signs will be posted during each phase of work, and customers will board outside near the intersection of Yonge/Chaplin/Davisville.

Project updates will be provided as phases of work progress. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve transit infrastructure in Toronto.
