Construction Update - Winter 2020
TTC’s Easier Access Program is making subway stations accessible. As part of the TTC’s commitment to provide accessible transit, construction is underway at Dupont Station. The work involves the installation of new elevators.
Construction/fencing will continue at street-level to build the elevator and its canopy. Other related activities are also taking place underground inside the station.
For safety reasons, a new pedestrian walkway has been built on a portion of Spadina Road (at Dupont Street) to accommodate the construction of the street-level elevator and its canopy structure. This is expected to be in place until end of March 2020.
The Dupont Station elevator is scheduled to open in mid-2020. There will be other minor work that will continue after that date at the station.
The majority of work will take place between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m., as required. As permitted, some overnight and weekend work will be required during the course of this project in order to complete the work as quickly as possible.
Nearby businesses and residents can expect noise from construction equipment.
26 Dupont and 127 Davenport bus service will be maintained through the intersection during the work. Bus stops will be relocated to a nearby location, as required.
Thank you for your support as we work to make Dupont Station accessible as quickly as possible.
