King and Church / King and Parliament intersections - streetcar overhead wire maintenance
December 8 to 10, 2018
This weekend, streetcars on the 504 A/B King route will be diverted to accommodate overhead wire maintenance at King/Church and King/Parliament and a number of rail repairs across King Street.
To complete this overhead work safely and with minimal impact to traffic, the overhead wiring work will be conducted each night from 11:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. between Saturday, December 8 to Monday, December 10.
On average, two to three TTC overhead trucks with hydraulic equipment will be used to carry out this work. While efforts will be made by the crew to keep noise to a minimum, beeping sounds when the trucks are backing up will be audible. Equipment lights may also be noticeable.
Traffic will be maintained through the intersection with lane restrictions.
TTC service - 504 King Route
TTC has also planned rail maintenance along the King Street route during this weekend period requiring temporary changes to the 504 King streetcar service.
