Several changes will take effect May 12, 2019 (unless otherwise noted) and include service increases, service reliability improvements, schedule/route/service adjustments, a route name change, construction-related changes, and seasonal service adjustments.

Service increases

3 Scarborough (effective May 13, 2019)
Service will be improved during the midday and early evening period, from Monday to Friday, to reduce overcrowding for customers. Service will be improved from every 6-7 minutes to every 5 minutes from approximately 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

92 Woodbine South (effective May 13, 2019)
Service will be increased on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, to accommodate increased summer ridership to and from the Lake Shore. Afternoon service will be improved from every 12 minutes to every 5 minutes and evening service from every 12 to 20 minutes to every 7 to 10 minutes in the evenings.

102 Markham Rd (effective May 13, 2019)
Additional trips will be added on 102A (Warden Station-Centennial College) between 6 a.m. and 6:55 a.m. to reduce crowding for customers.

125 Drewry (effective May 13, 2019)
Service will be increased, from Monday to Friday, in the early evening until approximately 7 p.m. to reduce crowding for customers. Service will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 15 minutes.

304 King
304 King streetcar service in the overnight will also be temporarily increased from every 30 minutes to every 15 minutes.

937 Islington Express (effective May 13, 2019)
Additional trips will be added to the schedules on the 937 Islington Express to reduce crowding for customers. Four trips will be added at the start of the morning peak period. The first trip will depart northbound from Islington Station at approximately 5:50 a.m. and southbound from Steeles at approximately 6:25 a.m.

Service reliability improvements

The Service Reliability Program, which continuously monitors and improves schedules to better match observed operating conditions, will result in new schedules for the following lines/routes:

Schedule/route/service adjustments

23 Dawes
Schedules will be adjusted slightly during Saturday and Sunday early evening and late evening to improve service reliability for customers and trip times will change slightly.

30 Lambton (effective May 13, 2019)
Schedules will be adjusted in the early morning on weekdays on the 30 Lambton to improve customer connections to other bus routes.

32 Eglinton West (effective May 13, 2019)
Schedules will be adjusted in the early morning on weekdays on the 32 Eglinton West to improve customer connections to other bus routes.

36 Finch West
The branch designations on this route will be revised in order to improve wayfinding for customers. There will be no change to the periods of operation for the overall services. The branches will now show:

  • To Humberwood: 36B Finch West
  • To Finch West Station (in both directions): 36A Finch West
  • To Finch Station: 36 Finch West

63 Ossington
Service after approximately 1 a.m. from Monday to Friday will be reduced from every 10 minutes to every 20 minutes. Trips in the overnight period will also be adjusted on this route to better transition to the 363 Ossington Blue Night bus route.

72 Pape
Routing will be adjusted to operate on Bay Street, in both directions, downtown. During peak periods, service on the two branches will be unblended, as 72B (Pape Station-Union Station via Queens Quay) service will be reduced from every 15 minutes to every 19 to 21 minutes to reflect observed ridership. Service on 72A (Pape Station-Eastern) will be improved from every 15 minutes to every 9 to 10 minutes. Combined midday service will be reduced from every 8 minutes to every 9 to 10 minutes.

116 Morningside (effective May 13, 2019)
Schedules will be adjusted from Monday to Friday to reduce a gap in northbound service for customers between approximately 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. at Kennedy Station.

363 Ossington
Some trips in the overnight period will be adjusted to better transition from the 63 Ossington bus route. Southbound trips will also be adjusted to meet the last northbound train on Line 1 at Eglinton West Station. The last 363A Ossington bus will depart Eglinton West Station at 2:12 a.m.

404 East York
Schedules will be adjusted to allow operator breaks at Coxwell Station. The 12 p.m. westbound trip from Queen and Waverley will no longer pause for 30 minutes at East York Acres and will arrive at Michael Garron Hospital at 12:54 p.m. and at Coxwell Station at 1 p.m. The current 12 p.m. eastbound trip from Coxwell Station will now depart at 12:30 p.m. making stops at Michael Garron Hospital at 12:32 p.m. and East York Acres at 12:41 p.m.

Route name change

186 Wilson Rocket / 996 Wilson Express
As part of the Express Bus Network rebranding, the 996 Wilson Express will replace the express service currently provided by the 186 Wilson Rocket. There will be no change to the schedules or service levels.

Construction-related changes

King-Queen-Roncesvalles Construction Postponed:

29 Dufferin / 929 Dufferin Express
Construction at the intersection of King-Queen-Roncesvalles has been postponed. As a result, the 29 Dufferin will not need to divert and will return to Dufferin Gate Loop from Monday to Friday in the weekday off-peak periods and weekend evening periods. All 929 Dufferin Express service will also return to terminate at Dufferin Gate Loop.

Metrolinx Line 5 Construction:

91 Woodbine
The routing on 91 Woodbine will be changed at Eglinton Avenue due to Metrolinx construction at Sloane Avenue and Bermondsey Road. The route will temporarily divert via Credit Union Drive and Swift Drive, and may change depending on the phase of work at Eglinton Avenue.

363 Ossington
Due to Metrolinx construction for Line 5 at Eglinton West Station, the routing on the 363 Ossington will change after the last 363A trip. Trips after approximately 2:30 a.m. will operate as 363B and route via Vaughan Road, Northcliffe Boulevard, and Eglinton Avenue West to Glenholme Avenue. The 363B buses will not enter Eglinton West Station.

Davisville Station Bus Roadway Construction:

Due to a partial closure of the bus roadway at Davisville Station for construction, the following bus routes will be affected:

11 Bayview will continue to operate into the station but will utilize different bus bays depending on the phasing of the construction. There will be no change to the overall schedule of the route.

14 Glencairn and 28 Bayview South routes will interline. There will be an on-street connection at Yonge Street to Davisville Station and buses will not enter the station.

97 Yonge -  only northbound trips on the 97 Yonge will enter the station. Southbound 97B trips will not enter the station and will connect to the subway on-street at Chaplin Crescent and Yonge Street.

Jane Station Bus Roadway Construction:

Construction on the bus roadway at Jane Station will impact the following routes:

26 Dupont will be extended to Old Mill Station via Bloor Street. Two temporary stops will be installed on Bloor between Old Mill Drive and Jane Street for unloading, and on Jane Street north of the station to load customers. Service levels will be maintained.

35 Jane / 935 Jane Express will continue to unload customers inside Jane Station, but customers will board in front of the station on Jane Street, north of Bloor Street.

55 Warren Park will be extended to Old Mill Station via Bloor Street. Two temporary stops will be installed on Bloor between Old Mill Drive and Jane Street for unloading, and on Jane Street north of the station to load customers. There will be no change to service levels on the route.

Seasonal Service Adjustments

38 Highland Creek (effective May 13, 2019)
Service will be temporarily reduced during the midday and afternoon peak periods from Monday to Friday, as seasonal ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from Centennial College, Ellesmere Campus, and U of T Scarborough. Midday service will change from every 6 minutes to every 8 minutes. Afternoon peak period service will change from every 6 to 7 minutes to every 8 minutes.

44 Kipling South (effective May 13, 2019)
Service will be temporarily reduced during the peak periods and midday from Monday to Friday, as seasonal ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from Humber College Lake Shore Campus. Morning and afternoon peak period services will change from every 5 minutes to every 5 to 6 minutes. In the midday period, service will change from every 6 to 7 minutes to every 8 minutes.

75 Sherbourne (effective May 13, 2019)
Service will be temporarily reduced during the peak periods and midday from Monday to Friday, as seasonal ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from George Brown College. Morning peak period service will reduce from every 4 to 5 minutes to every 5 to 6 minutes. Midday service will reduce from every 7 minutes to every 8 minutes. Afternoon peak period service will reduce from every 6 minutes to every 8 minutes.

85 Sheppard East
Service will be extended to the Toronto Zoo in the early evening on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, beginning on Sunday, May 12, 2018 to match the later closing time of the zoo, at 7 p.m. The last trip on the 85D (Don Mills Station-Rouge Hill GO Station via Toronto Zoo) and 85F (Don Mills Station-Toronto Zoo) branches will leave from the zoo at approximately 8 p.m.

86 Scarborough
Service will be extended to the Toronto Zoo, from Monday to Friday, to match the later closing time of the zoo, at 7 p.m. The 86A (Kennedy Station-Toronto Zoo) branch will operate until approximately 8 p.m.

Service will also be added on weekends and holidays to the Toronto Zoo beginning on Sunday, May 12, 2019. Buses will follow the same routing to the zoo as they do from Monday to Friday and will operate until approximately 8 p.m.

121 Fort York-Esplanade
Seasonal service will be extended to Ontario Place and Cherry Beach. All service will operate on the 121D (Ontario Place-Cherry Beach) branch.

Service will also be permanently rerouted via Front Street West and Spadina Avenue, in both directions, to reduce traffic delays for customers resulting from Toronto Blue Jays home games.

134 Progress / 913 Progress Express (effective May 13, 2019)
Service will be temporarily reduced during the peak periods and midday, Monday to Friday, on 134C (Scarborough Centre Station-Centennial College) and 913 Progress Express, as seasonal ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from Centennial College. Morning peak period service will be reduced from every 4 to 5 minutes to every 6 minutes, midday service will be reduced from every 6 to 7 minutes to every 8 to 9 minutes, and afternoon peak period service will be reduced from every 5 minutes to every 7 to 8 minutes.

175 Bluffer’s Park
Weekend-only seasonal bus service will operate between Kennedy Station and Bluffer’s Park. Service will operate every 15 minutes during the daytime and early evening on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

905 Eglinton East Express (effective May 13, 2019)
Service will be temporarily reduced during the peak periods and midday, from Monday to Friday, as seasonal ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from Centennial College, Ellesmere Campus, and U of T Scarborough. Service will be reduced from every 8 to 10 minutes to every 9 to 11 minutes.

927 Highway 27 Express (effective May 13, 2019)
Service will be temporarily reduced during the midday and afternoon peak period, from Monday to Friday, as seasonal ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from Humber College. Several trips on 927A will be removed for the summer. Midday service will be reduced from every 5 to 6 minutes to every 6 to 7 minutes. Afternoon peak period service will be reduced from every 4 minutes to every 4 to 5 minutes.

935 Jane Express (effective May 13, 2019)
Service will be temporarily reduced from Monday to Friday as seasonal ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to York University and Pioneer Village Station. Morning peak period service will be reduced from every 7 to 8 minutes to every 8 to 9 minutes. Midday and afternoon peak period service will be reduced from every 9 to 10 minutes to every 11 minutes. Early evening service will be reduced from every 9 minutes to every 10 minutes.

944 Kipling South Express (effective May 13, 2019)
Service will be temporarily reduced from Monday to Friday as seasonal ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to Humber College Lake Shore Campus. Service will be reduced from every 7 to 9 minutes to every 10 to 12 minutes.
