Several changes will take effect on November 24, 2019 (unless otherwise noted) and include service reliability improvements, service increases, a new express stop, route/service adjustments, a destination sign change, construction-related changes and trial route changes for the King Street Transit Priority Corridor.

Service reliability improvements

The Service Reliability Program, which continuously monitors and improves schedules to better match observed operating conditions, will result in new schedules for the following routes, effective November 25, 2019 unless otherwise noted:

  • 22/322 Coxwell (effective Nov. 24, 2019)
  • 25 Don Mills
  • 56 Leaside
  • 60 Steeles West
  • 68 Warden
  • 121 Fort York-Esplanade
  • 125 Drewry
  • 925 Don Mills Express

Service increases

65 Parliament
Service will be increased in the early evening, Monday to Friday, and during the daytime and early evening, Saturday and Sunday, to accommodate increased travel to the Toronto Christmas Market at the Distillery District.

73 Royal York (effective November 25, 2019) 
An additional southbound trip will be added to 73 Royal York service at 1:07 a.m. Mondays to Fridays to better serve customers.

86 Scarborough (effective December 5, 2019) 
The Toronto Zoo will be hosting evening events on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from December to April 2020. Additional service will be operated to the Zoo on those days, beyond the existing schedule, from the last trip (approximately 6 p.m.) to approximately 10:30 p.m. The service will be operated every 10 minutes on one bus between the Toronto Zoo and Meadowvale Loop at Sheppard and Meadowvale, allowing customers to connect to 85 Sheppard East and 86 Scarborough. These trips will be signed SPECIAL.

Schedules will not be available online for this service on Thursdays and Fridays. Schedules will be available online for Saturdays, Sundays, and on Boxing Day (December 26).

121 Fort York-Esplanade (effective November 25, 2019)
A new temporary service will operate in the evening, from Monday to Friday, to accommodate customer travel to the Toronto Christmas Market at the Distillery District. Buses will operate on a 121S branch (Union Station-Distillery District), turning back via Yonge Street, Wellington Street West, Bay Street to Front Street.

501 Queen
CLRV streetcars are scheduled to be retired at the end of 2019. To celebrate the vehicles, extra service operated by CLRVs will be scheduled on 501 Queen, from Sunnyside Loop to Queen/Kingston Road on weekend afternoons until December 22nd.

504 King
Service will be increased on the 504 King in the evening, Monday to Saturday, and during the afternoon on Sundays, to accommodate increased travel to the Toronto Christmas Market at the Distillery District. Two extra streetcars will be scheduled to operate between Charlotte Loop and Distillery Loop.

New express stop

35 Jane/935 Jane Express
New express stops will be designated for the 935 Jane Express at Jane and Alliance, stop 15803 for the northbound stop and 3862 for the southbound stop.

Route/service adjustments

94 Wellesley (effective November 25, 2019) 
Service will be reduced in the daytime, from Monday to Friday, so that resources could be reallocated to improve service reliability on other routes. Service in the morning peak period and midday will change from every six to seven minutes to every seven to eight minutes. Service in the afternoon peak period will change from every eight minutes to every eight to nine minutes.

121 Fort York-Esplanade (effective November 25, 2019) 
Service will be reduced during midday, early evening, and late evening periods due to low ridership. Service will be scheduled to operate every 30 minutes in the off-peak periods.

503 Kingston Rd (effective November 25, 2019)
City and TTC construction will end and regular service will resume through the Queen Street East and Kingston Road intersection. The consolidation of service on Kingston Road on 503 Kingston Rd will continue on a trial basis. Customers travelling to destinations on Queen Street, west of Broadview Avenue, will continue to be required to transfer to 501 Queen service.

511 Bathurst
All service on 511 Bathurst will continue to be designated for CLRV operation. Low-floor streetcars will be deployed on the route as they become available.

Destination sign change

85 Sheppard East (effective November 25, 2019)
Destination signs will be updated on the 85 Sheppard East to reduce customer confusion at Don Mills Station. Eastbound buses on the 85C (Don Mills Station-Meadowvale) branch will display the branch letter.

Trial route change – King Street Transit Priority Corridor (effective November 25, 2019)

Service on Downtown Express routes within downtown Toronto will change and operate via King Street on a trial basis. Within the transit priority corridor (Bathurst to Jarvis), buses will serve new express-only bus stops, which will be separate from streetcar stops to reduce customer confusion and vehicular/passenger congestion. All buses will charge a double fare within downtown.

141 Downtown/Mt Pleasant Express

  • New southbound express route stops along King Street at: George Street, Yonge Street, York Street, Peter Street and Charlotte Street.
  • New northbound express route stops along King Street at: Charlotte Street, Simcoe Street and Jordan Street. A new northbound express stop at Jarvis Street and Adelaide Street East will be added to this route.
  • Service on some trips are now extended to start or end at Lawrence Avenue and Mt. Pleasant Road. Check schedules for details on these new trips.

142 Downtown/Avenue Rd Express

  • New southbound express route stops along King Street at: Jordan Street, George Street and Berkeley Street. A new southbound express stop at University Avenue and Adelaide Street will be added to this route.
  • New northbound express route stops along King Street at: Berkeley Street, George Street, Yonge Street, and York Street. A new northbound express stop at University Avenue and Adelaide Street will be added to this route.

143 Downtown/Beach Express

  • New eastbound express route stops along King Street at: Charlotte Street, Simcoe Street, Jordan Street, George Street, and Parliament Street. A new eastbound express stop at Carlaw Avenue and Eastern Avenue will be added to this route.
  • New westbound express route stops along King Street at: Parliament Street, George Street, Yonge Street, York Street, Peter Street and Charlotte Street. A new westbound express stop at Carlaw Avenue and Eastern Avenue will be added to this route.

144 Downtown/Don Valley Express

  • New southbound express route stops along King Street at: Parliament Street, George Street, Yonge Street, York Street, Peter Street and Charlotte Street.
  • New northbound express route stops along King Street at: Charlotte Street, Simcoe Street, Jordan Street, George Street, and Parliament Street.

145 Downtown/Humber Bay Express

  • New eastbound express route stops along King Street at: Bathurst Street, Charlotte Street, Simcoe Street, Jordan Street, and George Street.
  • New westbound express route stops along King Street at: Berkeley Street, George Street, Yonge Street, York Street, Peter Street and Bathurst Street.

Construction-related changes

20 Cliffside (effective November 25, 2019)
City construction on Midland Avenue between Danforth Road and Lawrence Avenue East is planned to end.  Service levels will remain the same but individual trip times will change.

21 Brimley (effective November 25, 2019)
City construction on Brimley Road between Progress Avenue and Huntingwood Drive is planned to end. Service levels will remain the same but individual trip times will change.

25 Don Mills (effective November 25, 2019) 
With the completion of watermain construction on Pape Avenue, service reliability improvements will be made to 25 Don Mills. Schedules will be revised, Monday to Friday, in all periods. Service levels and trip times will change throughout the day. On Saturdays and Sundays, service levels will generally remain the same but individual trips times will change.

26 Dupont
Construction at Jane Station will end, and 26 Dupont will return to Jane Station. Service levels will generally remain the same but individual trips times will change.

35 Jane / 935 Jane Express
Construction at Jane Station will end, and all platforms at Jane Station will re-open. 35 Jane and 935 Jane Express will return to serve the easternmost platforms at Jane Station. Service levels will generally remain the same but individual trip times will change.

55 Warren Park
Construction at Jane Station will end, and 55 Warren Park will return to Jane Station. Service levels in the peak periods will remain the same, but individual trip times may change. Off peak and weekend service levels will be reduced from every 20 minutes to every 30 minutes.

57 Midland (effective November 25, 2019) 
City construction on Midland Avenue between Danforth Road and Lawrence Avenue East will end. Service levels will generally remain the same but individual trips times will change.

81 Thorncliffe Park (effective November 25, 2019) 
Watermain construction on Pape Avenue ends and service will revert to preconstruction schedules. Service levels will generally remain the same but individual trips times will change.

113 Danforth (effective November 25, 2019) 
City construction on Danforth Road between St Clair Avenue East and Danforth Avenue will end. Service levels will generally remain the same but individual trips times will change.

169 Huntingwood (effective November 25, 2019) 
City construction on Huntingwood Drive between Kennedy Road and Brimley Road will end. Schedules will be the same as May 2019.

501 Queen
City and TTC construction at Queen Street East and Kingston Road will end and regular service will resume. Schedules will change to account for new low-floor streetcar operation.

503 Kingston Rd (effective November 25, 2019)
City and TTC construction will end and regular service will resume through the Queen Street East and Kingston Road intersection. The consolidation of service on Kingston Road on 503 Kingston Rd will continue on a trial basis. Customers travelling to destinations on Queen Street, west of Broadview Avenue, will continue to be required to transfer to 501 Queen service.
